Zac MILES
Mayoral Candidate
Zac Miles is the Mayor of Hunters Hill Council and has been a passionate local for more than 26 years. He first ran for Hunters Hill Council in the 2012 Local Government Elections and has, for the last 12 years, been working to serve the community in the chamber.
​
Zac is again running for Mayor in this election.
Zac is the only candidate in these elections to have served the last 12 years on council and in that time he has worked to improve our streetscapes and villages, pushed for better planning controls in the Gladesville and Hunters Hill Villages, advocated for improved parks and sporting facilities and has, since becoming Mayor in 2021, delivered surplus council budgets.

Outside of his time serving on Hunters Hill Council Zac is the Managing Director of a funds management firm, raising capital for the group- particularly in agriculture and infrastructure. He brings passion, integrity, experience and a commitment to standing up for Hunters Hill as the lead candidate of the Liberal team at these elections.
Tatyana VIRGARA
South Ward
Tatyana is a serving Hunters Hill Councillor, legal and governance professional and a local mum who, along with her husband Scott Gandy and their 4 young children, has lived in Hunters Hill for over 13 years.

Tatyana's children have attended local schools (Villa Maria & Joeys) and play sports for All Saints Football Club, Pirates Cricket Club and Hunters Hill Rugby.
​
Tatyana brings experience and perspective to local issues affecting our community and has a vision for an effective local council which maintains Hunters Hill's historic buildings, gardens and streetscapes and also contributes to the cultural, economic and social wellbeing of the Hunters Hill community.

As an experienced legal professional, Tatyana is committed to better consultation, consensus building and ultimately more informed decision making for the community she serves.
Julia PRIESTON
South Ward
Julia has served on Hunters Hill Council since 2021 and is a born and raised local. She attended both Hunters Hill Pre School and Hunters Hill Public School and has lived, worked and breathed Hunters Hill her whole life.
​
From a young age, Julia took a keen interest in sports - she became the first female member of All Saints' Soccer Club, learned ballet at the Jenan School of Dance, played football for the Gladesville Ravens and swam competitively for Hunters Hill Swimming Club. She remains passionate about sport and particularly female involvement in sport through improved infrastructure and local participation.
​
Julia's first work experience was volunteering in Hunters Hill Council's administrative office, assisting Margaret Kelly and Mayor Sue Hoopmann organising community events. Julia's passion for community then led her to work in Joe Hockey's North Sydney electorate office part-time whilst studying Commerce and Law at the University of Sydney. Today, Julia is an admitted solicitor, working at the Qantas Group in the office of the CFO.

Julia wants council to engage better with young, working families in the community and to work within Hunters Hill to make sure we do not need to go out-of-area for the services we need. Local decision-making to build a stronger community together.
Carol TANNOUS-SLEIMAN
North Ward
A proud resident of Hunters Hill for over 24 years, Carol and her husband George have raised and educated three children locally. Carol has worked in human resources and leadership roles throughout her career, most recently in her own HR and employee relations consulting firm.

Carol is a determined, practical and genuine leader who has a strong commitment to the betterment of her local community- evident in her support of small businesses and drive to employ locally in her own companies. Carol has offered pro bono mentorship to young woman leaders across Sydney, including support for our important businesses community in Hunters Hill.
​
Carol has a passion and long-standing commitment to Hunters Hill; she is driven to building a sustainable and thriving future for our area by improving facilities and services and providing more support for the area's local schools, clubs and particularly its businesses in the coming term of council.
Carla Kassab
North Ward
Carla has been a resident of Hunters Hill for over 20 years and proudly attended Riverside Girls High School.
​
Carla is part of the fabric of her local community- she is a long-standing volunteer at the Moocooboola festival, has been involved in the local Salvation Army Red Shield appeal and the West Ryde Chamber of Commerce. This experience helped to shape her passion and motivation to get more involved and make a difference where she lives.
​
Having worked directly with young people during her time with NSW Health Carla developed a deep passion for creating more accessible services and youth-friendly activities within the local community. Carla wants to ensure that council consider the needs of young people whenever they are making decisions, developing more effective communication pathways to ensure no one is left behind.

Carla brings extensive experience in both the Event Management and non-for-profit space.
Marianne DOYLE
North Ward
Marianne Doyle has been a dedicated resident of Hunters Hill for more than 10 years, where she lives with her husband David and their two children- both of whom have attended local schools, Villa Maria and Joeys.
Marianne has made significant contributions to the community through her professional and volunteer efforts. She has successfully run her own marketing and communications business for over 14 years, with the last 5 years operating from local offices in Gladesville. This business has provided local employment opportunities and supported numerous community initiatives, including sponsorship of junior girl’s league tag.
​
Marianne's commitment to local sports is immense. She has coached junior netball for 5 years, instilling teamwork and sportsmanship in young athletes. Additionally, her 4-year tenure as the treasurer of the local football club showcased her financial capacity to help the club’s grow and succeed.
​
Marianne is passionate about the family life that Hunters Hill provides and is a strong advocate for maintaining and improving the community’s amenities. She believes in fostering a supportive environment for families, enhancing local services, and ensuring that Hunters Hill remains a vibrant, inclusive, and safe place to live. Her professional background in marketing and communications equips her with the skills to effectively engage with the community, promote local initiatives, and advocate for the residents’ needs. Marianne is excited to bring her experience, dedication, and passion to the Hunters Hill Council as a representative for the North Ward.
